The purpose of FBC’s Women’s Ministry is to point to and celebrate the transforming effect of the gospel in our lives as women. It is both ministry to women and ministry by women in the context of the church family. Our intent is to equip women by encouraging, teaching, training, and sharing our lives together as we delight in God’s glory and the authority of His Word and to give of ourselves and our resources to serve God and the church family. (Romans 12:1&2 – Titus 2:3-5)
Women’s Ministries Opportunities At FBC
Tuesdays: Women’s Bible Study & Prayer – 10:00a – Noon
Currently studying: Jen Wilkin’s None Like Him
Join FBC women and their friends for a rich time of study in God’s Word preceded by intercessory prayer each Tuesday morning.
As we study the book, “None Like Him”, by Jen Wilkin, we will take 10 weeks to look at the majesty of God in 10 ways that He is not like us, His creation. As image bearers, if we neglect to search out a biblical ‘picture’ and understanding of God we will get everything else wrong. Indeed, as Jen reminds us, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge…” Proverbs 1:7. We would love to have you join us for this precious study.
Recent Bible Studies:

Join us on the last Thursday of each month as we cut, sew, knit, crochet, and much more, for nurse Nancie Dellaganna’s Memorial Christian Hospital and for Bangladesh Awana Clubs. Bring your lunch and we’ll provide the coffee, the laughter, the purpose of serving our missionaries, and all the materials! Please come and enjoy the encouragement of fellowship and service for the glory of God!
Women’s Retreat for 2016, February 6, Photo Library
Our Women’s Ministries Retreat for 2016 was a beautiful day together with women of First Baptist Church as well as other churches in our community. The fellowship was sweet as we worshiped and studied God’s Word, savored an incredible High Tea complete with four delectable tea choices, reviewed the work of our Women’s Ministries, and enjoyed a time of creativi-tea!
So many gifted women offered their talent, time, and love to create this day of retreat for one another and to glorify God. Thanks be to God for this gift!
**Many of you have asked about the gluten-free bread served at the Retreats: It is Pamela’s Bread Mix, available at Whole Foods in SLO. Additional recipes available at the church office.
