Josh Lieurance

Josh, originally from San Diego, first moved to Cambria in 1997 with his wife Heather where he enjoyed being the youth and associate pastor at FBC. After ten years he moved to Vacaville to serve in a similar role at Orchard Baptist, before moving back to southern California to pursue a M.Div. degree in pastoral ministry at Talbot School of Theology. During that time, he joined the staff of Emmanuel Faith Community Church as “Connection Pastor.” In 2016 he returned to FBC, Cambria where he serves as senior pastor. When not at church, you can often find Josh and Heather enjoying God’s creation on their bikes, SUPs, or in their itty-bitty teardrop trailer.

Heather Lieurance
Ministry Administrator

Growing up as a pastor’s kid, Heather spent her childhood in Montana and Washington before landing in her beloved California and ending up at San Diego Christian College (formerly Christian Heritage College), where she met Josh. With a degree in Counseling Psychology, a minor in Women’s Ministry, several years spent home schooling their 3 kids, several other years working as a Dispatcher for the San Diego Police Department, and various administrative positions in between, Heather is super thankful (and perhaps uniquely qualified) to serve in the role of Ministry Administrator at FBC. When she’s not in the office, you might find her sipping coffee, jogging, or walking with a friend, enjoying the outdoors with Josh, grinning over pictures of their adorable grandchildren, or working on her podcast, Quiet on Purpose.

Steve Brown
Hospitality Director

Pastor Stephen “Steve” Brown entered full-time ministry in 1990 as an Executive Pastor in Fresno, California.  After completing his pastoral training from Moody Bible Institute in 1994, he split his time between pastoral ministry in Fresno and Clovis, CA, and working with pastors and church planters in Russia and Ukraine through Slavic Gospel Association. He has also done missions work in Mexico and Burundi, Africa.

 From 2006 - 2015, Steve served as Senior Pastor at Palm Avenue Community Church in Fresno.  In 2016 he served as Interim Pastor for First Baptist Church of Cambria until Pastor Josh’s call here in October of that year.

Steve and his wife, Laura Lee relocated to Cambria in September 2018, immediately renewed membership at FBC, and joined the staff in 2021. They have been married since 1973 and have three children, ten grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. They are blessed to have all of them within a four-hour drive of Cambria!
